Then there's the static ip address which is what the modem is assigning the PC's nic + the gateway ip which is also being assigned. Then there's the internal ip address of the modem itself which is 192.168.100.1 to access the modems configuration page which is useless since there are no things you can set in there to manipulate the ip address. I notice in your screenshot that the IPv4 address is a 192.168.1.xxx address and not an IP from your ISP like mine (i.e., 72.xxx.xxx.xxx). The 72.xxx address was the IP address of the Ubee router before I changed it to Bridge Mode. Should I be using a different IP address in the IPv4 field? Dec 21, 2013 · A static IP is issued by your ISP i.e. Time Warner, therefore *you* cannot change it. Also turning off the modem overnight will not result in a new IP, unless TW elect to change it. Your best bet is to either get a separate internet connection for your kids or a proxy service for yourself.
